Boynton Math Club
Boynton will have an active Math Club again this year! The afterschool
sessions started the week of September 30. There is a Tuesday group for 7th and 8th
graders, and a Wednesday group for 6th graders. (Note that this is not a
strict division; children with conflicts on one day are open to attend the
meeting on the other day.) The first Wednesday meeting will be October 14. Meetings last one
hour, 3:30 to 4:30, and are a mix of problem-solving, math games and
monthly contests. The meetings are held in Room B202 (Ms. Cole's
classroom). We had more than 25 active members last year, and had the
opportunity to compete at the regional and state levels. Any student who
enjoys math or wants to improve his/her math skills is welcome to join our
group. Newcomers are always welcome!!
If your child would like to join, please send an email to Melissa Smith (see below). He/she can also just show up at the first meeting. Some students have sports or musical commitments. So, it is fine if they wait until the sports season is over, or attend just those meeting that fit their schedule.

Thursday, December 4 Informal Math Meet in Rochester against the Rochester middle schools. At Martha Brown Junior High School in Fairport.
